About DrGenius

Passionate About Children,
Purpose-Driven in Education

My name is Ogunnika Abosede Olabode, and most people know me as DrGenius. I am an early childhood educator, teacher educator, and the founder of DRGenius EduAct Impact Foundation (DEAIF), based in Nigeria.

My journey in education began over a decade ago, taking me through nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools, and universities. I have taught children as young as two years old and mentored undergraduate students. Every season has deepened my conviction: every child carries genius inside them. What they need are the right people and the right tools around them.

I help teachers teach better, help parents support learning at home, and give children the reading foundation they deserve. Through phonics tools, children's books, training resources, and practical guides, my work reaches learners and educators across Nigeria and beyond.

I hold a First Class degree in Early Childhood Education and Geography from the University of Ibadan where I graduated as the Best Graduating Student. I am a certified teacher registered with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria and a published author with over 15 works to my name.

Working with Rural Children

After-School English Building &
Teaching Kids to Read

Abosede teaching a full rural classroom Small rural classroom children reading

Some of the most important work happens in the smallest, most forgotten classrooms. These photos were taken in rural communities in Plateau State where children sit on wooden benches in brick buildings, with little more than a blackboard, a few books, and a teacher who shows up for them every day.

Abosede has taught in these settings firsthand. She knows what it means to look into the eyes of a child sitting in a dark room with torn walls and watch them sound out their first word. That moment is what drives everything DEAIF does.

The after-school English building programme targets children who are falling behind in reading and literacy. Through structured phonics, storytelling, and one-on-one engagement, children in these rural communities are given the reading foundation that sets them up for life.

Community Projects

Going Beyond the Classroom,
Into the Community

Education does not stop at the school gate. DEAIF takes action in communities, homes, and streets — because unlocking a child's genius sometimes starts with making sure they have clothes on their back, a wheelchair under a parent, or a teacher who knows how to use a computer.

👕
Clothe a Child Initiative
Some children come to school in torn, worn-out clothing. We saw it firsthand and took action. The Clothe a Child project provides decent school uniforms and clothing to children in need, restoring dignity and encouraging school attendance in underserved communities.

ICT Training for Jengre Teachers
As founder of the Jengre Teachers Association, Abosede coordinated a hands-on ICT training programme that equipped 70 rural teachers in Jengre, Plateau State, with digital tools and skills to improve classroom delivery. Most of these teachers had never used a computer before this training.

AI Literacy for Career Pathway — Under a Tree in Ayetoro Gbede

There was no hall. No projector. No cushioned chairs. Just a large tree, 90 eager students in white and green uniforms, a microphone, a laptop, and the conviction that every young person in that compound had a genius waiting to be unlocked.

Students were guided through the ISLP Model — a career discovery framework covering Interest, Strength, Limitation & Purpose — and introduced to Rafiki AI, Africa's first AI-powered career counsellor, accessible free via WhatsApp 24/7. Carried out as part of the IYC13 Youth in Action Week with DEAIF as an officially recognised participating organisation.

Clothe a Child & Mobility Aids

No Child Should Learn in Torn Clothes.
No Person Should Be Immobile for Want of a Wheelchair.

These photos tell the story without many words. A child standing in a school uniform that has completely torn apart. Another whose clothes are held together by threads. This is what Abosede saw on the ground in Jengre, Plateau State. So she acted.

The Clothe a Child Initiative provides school clothing to children who cannot afford decent uniforms. Alongside this, DEAIF partnered with Beautiful Gate Handicapped NGO to distribute assistive mobility aids to physically challenged individuals in the community, including 17 wheelchairs, 2 walkers, 5 walking sticks, and 2 crutches.

Your Child Is Not Just Shy
Sometimes they just do not feel safe enough to speak. Shyness in children is rarely a personality flaw. Confidence starts from what they experience early and it is never too late to change that environment.

What Kind of Mindset Do Teachers Need to Be Successful?
Teaching is more than a skill set. It is a way of thinking. The teachers who consistently produce results are not always the most qualified. They are the ones who show up with the right mindset every single day.

Learning Opposites Should Not Be Abstract
Up and down. Big and small. Hot and cold. When children learn opposites through handmade cards, real objects, and play, they do not just memorise the words. They understand them. This is what concrete learning looks like.
